Meet our Founder

I’m Guy. I left a corporate job, got on a bike, and spent a year cycling around the world. I called it Big Free Time, a name borrowed from an afternoon at school in Suffolk, when we were simply told to go explore.

That feeling of unstructured time in the open air, with no particular agenda except to be present, is what I came home wanting to give other people.

Born from a very long bike ride.

I grew up in Suffolk. I know its lanes, its light, its hidden pubs, and its particular way of making a day feel longer than it is. Big Free Time started as a way to share that. It’s become something more ambitious.

We’re building a range of weekend retreats and experiences for people who live and work in London and want more from their time off. Not more activity. More texture. More stillness. More of the things that remind you why any of it matters.

Suffolk and Essex are home. The rest of the country is next.
